Stored XSS via forged settings save
Published Oct 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in A WP Life Weather Effect before 1.3.4 allows remote attackers to inject script through a forged settings request. The admin.php?page=weather-effects-setting handler accepts snow_action=save_setting without a CSRF token and stores unvalidated size fields that render as page markup. An authenticated administrator must visit attacker-controlled content; the injected script then runs for visitors or administrators who load an affected page.
