Stored script execution via unescaped descriptions
Published Jan 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Travel Engine before 5.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through taxonomy descriptions. The Trip Destination, Activities, Trip Type, and Pricing Category pages store Description values without escaping them before rendering the values in HTML. Editor-level access is sufficient even without unfiltered_html, and the payload executes when another user views an affected page.
