Avatar replacement via forged shortcode request
Published Oct 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in One Designs One User Avatar before 2.3.7 allows remote attackers to replace a logged-in user’s avatar through a forged request. The [avatar_upload] shortcode’s update flow accepts attacker-supplied avatar fields without checking a CSRF token. A victim must be logged in and visit or interact with attacker-controlled content; the demonstrated consequence is an unwanted avatar change.
