Private-post disclosure via unchecked saved-template shortcode
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in WPXPO PostX before 2.4.10 allows remote authenticated users to read private posts through saved templates. With the Saved Templates Addon enabled, the shortcode preview resolves an attacker-supplied post ID and displays the referenced content without enforcing its private or password-protected status. Contributor-level access and knowledge of a post ID are required, and exposure is limited to post contents the account cannot normally read.
