Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode identifier
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in WPXPO PostX before 2.4.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a shortcode. The Saved Templates shortcode renders its id value as an HTML attribute without neutralizing injected attributes, allowing an event handler to be stored. Contributor access and the Saved Templates Addon are required, and the script executes in another user's browser when the stored page is viewed.
