Reflected XSS via unescaped search attribute
Published Feb 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected cross-site scripting in RegistrationMagic before 5.0.1.9 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The plugin returns the rm_search_value query parameter inside an HTML attribute on the rm_login_advanced administration page without sanitizing or context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted URL, after which the injected script runs with that user's WordPress session privileges.
