Authenticated local file inclusion via unsanitized tab parameter
Published Nov 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Local file inclusion in KubiQ Images to WebP before 1.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute local PHP files via the tab parameter. The plugin passes the unsanitized tab value directly to include(), allowing traversal outside the plugin directory and inclusion of a chosen existing PHP file. Access to the WordPress upload administration page is required, and successful exploitation executes that file in the website context.
