Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped marker title
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Tushar Imran WP Map Block before 1.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted marker title. The block rendering path inserts the marker title into an HTML attribute without escaping, so an injected event-handler attribute persists in a saved post and executes when the post is previewed or viewed. Contributor-level access is sufficient to save the payload, and a viewer must open the affected preview or page, exposing that viewer’s browser session to attacker-controlled script.
