Authenticated content disclosure and image upload via AJAX
Published Sep 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Visual Link Preview before 2.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to disclose restricted posts and upload images. Several AJAX handlers accept a nonce exposed to every authenticated user without verifying the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber access is sufficient to search draft titles and content, read password-protected post titles, or import an image from a URL.
