Stored XSS via unsanitized playlist settings
Published Nov 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Sonaar Music MP3 Audio Player before 2.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' browsers. The playlist call-to-action label and link URL, plus several sonaar_audioplayer shortcode attributes, accept event handlers or JavaScript URLs without adequate sanitization or output escaping. An administrator-level account must save malicious settings or shortcode content, and a visitor must load the affected page for the code to run.
