CVE-2021-24620Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unchecked digital-product upload

Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Arbitrary file upload in Niaz Showket Simple Ecommerce Shopping Cart Plugin 2.2.5 and earlier allows attackers to execute PHP remotely. The product editor accepts a Downloadable Digital product file without checking its type and stores it under wp-content/uploads/simpleecommcart/digitalproduct. An administrator can upload the file directly; otherwise, exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit a forged request, after which the uploaded PHP runs on the WordPress server.
