Stored XSS via unescaped QR-code image setting
Published Sep 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Wbolt Donate With QRCode before 1.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a QR-code image setting. The wb_dwqr_setting AJAX action saves opt[items][weixin][img] without a capability check or effective sanitization, and frontend posts embed the value without safe escaping. Subscriber access is sufficient before 1.4.2; through 1.4.4, attackers can instead induce an administrator to submit the request, causing stored script to run for visitors.
