Stored XSS via CSRF-forged unsanitized settings
Published Sep 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Keyword Meta through 3.0 allows remote attackers to execute script through settings saved by an administrator. The settings handler accepts cross-site requests without a CSRF check, stores arbitrary values, and later renders them without sanitization or escaping. Exploitation requires a logged-in high-privilege user to submit the forged request; the stored payload then executes in the affected page.
