Contributor-level PHP execution via conditional logic
Published Oct 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Code injection in Munir Kamal EditorsKit before 1.31.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP through crafted block data. The Custom Visibility conditional-logic field accepts Gutenberg block attributes without sanitization or validation and evaluates them as PHP when a post is saved or previewed. Contributor-level permission to create or edit a post is sufficient, and injected code runs with the WordPress server process's access.
