Administrator PHP execution via widget condition setting
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Code injection in Shareaholic Similar Posts 3.1.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP via a widget setting. The plugin treats the widget_rrm_similar_posts_condition value as executable PHP rather than validating it as configuration data. Administrator-level access to the Widgets interface is required, but the code executes even when WordPress file editing, file modification, and unfiltered HTML are disabled.
