Campaign Manager script execution via unfiltered donor names
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Charitable LLC Charitable before 1.6.51 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through added donations. The add-donation form saves attacker-controlled first- or last-name values without filtering them because the Campaign Manager role held the unfiltered_html capability. Campaign Manager access is required, and the stored payload executes when the donation record is viewed in the WordPress administrative interface.
