Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Sep 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Ingenesis Limited Shopp 1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP through an AJAX request. The unauthenticated shopp_upload_file action accepts multipart file data without authorization or dangerous-file-type validation and writes it under the site's uploads path. No account or user interaction is required; an uploaded PHP payload executes with the privileges of the WordPress web process.
