Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WPBrigade Simple Social Buttons before 3.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through an SSB shortcode. The shortcode renderer inserts the align and like_button_size attribute values into page output without escaping them. Contributor access permits storing a crafted shortcode; the script runs when another user, including an administrator, views the rendered content.
