Profile image modification via unchecked user identifier
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
IDOR in Cozmoslabs User Profile Picture before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to change or delete other users' profile images. The metronet_add_thumbnail and metronet_remove_thumbnail AJAX actions accept a caller-controlled user_id without verifying authority over that account. An account with the upload_image capability, granted to Authors by default, can alter images belonging to higher-privileged users.
