Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in bozdoz Leaflet Map before 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through crafted map shortcodes. Shortcode handlers insert attributes such as shape, latitude, tile URL, and map options into JavaScript or HTML without context-appropriate escaping or validation. A Contributor role is sufficient to store a payload, which executes when a visitor renders the affected map content and can act within that visitor's WordPress session.
