Authenticated database enumeration via unvalidated sort parameter
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Blind SQL injection in AYS Pro Plugins FAQ Builder AYS before 1.3.6 allows remote authenticated users to enumerate the database. The get_faqs() function accepts the orderby request parameter without validation or an allowlist and incorporates it into SQL passed to get_results(). Access to the plugin's WordPress administration menu is required, and the demonstrated consequence is blind database enumeration through response differences.
