Authenticated SQL injection via unvalidated orderby values
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in AYS Pro Plugins Popup Box before 2.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to query the database through the admin dashboard. The get_ays_popupboxes() and get_popup_categories() functions pass an unvalidated orderby value into SQL strings executed by get_results(). An authenticated WordPress dashboard session is required; the demonstrated boolean-based blind technique can infer database contents.
