Stored XSS via unprotected settings update
Published Feb 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in WPChill Remove Footer Credit before 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to store script-bearing footer settings. The settings form at wp-admin/tools.php?page=remove-footer-credit accepts attacker-chosen find and replace POST values without a CSRF token or sanitization. A logged-in administrator must submit the crafted form; the stored replacement executes in visitors' browsers when the affected footer renders.
