Stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Jul 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in WP YouTube Lyte before 1.7.16 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through plugin settings. The settings page stores lyte_yt_api_key and lyte_notification without sanitization, then renders their values without output escaping. Administrator access is required to submit the payload, and another user's viewing of the affected interface executes it in that browser.
