Administrator SQL injection via unescaped comment identifier
Published Sep 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Jan Olsen Comment Highlighter 0.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL via the c parameter. The plugin inserts the raw c GET value into the comment_ID predicate of a $wpdb->get_row SELECT statement without sanitizing, escaping, validating, or parameterizing it. Administrator access is required, and successful injection can read or alter WordPress database data or interrupt database-backed operations.
