Unauthenticated object injection via AJAX deserialization
Published Jul 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
PHP object injection in BearDev JoomSport before 5.1.8 allows remote attackers to supply serialized objects through an AJAX request. The joomsport_md_load action passes the shattr POST parameter to PHP unserialize without validating the serialized object type. The action is exposed without authentication; JoomSport has no usable gadget chain, but a compatible chain in another installed plugin enables code execution.
