Stored XSS via unescaped Custom Field output
Published Jul 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in CODEPRESS Admin Columns Free before 4.3.2 and Pro before 5.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. Custom Field columns render attacker-controlled database values without output escaping, causing stored HTML event handlers to run when a configured table is displayed. Exploitation requires a writable custom field and a victim to open the affected front-end or administrative table, enabling script actions within the victim's session.
