Reflected XSS via unsanitized upload filename
Published Jun 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Dovi42 Gallery from files through 1.6.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser via a crafted upload filename. The upload handler places an unsanitized filename into an error response when an extension is invalid, and the missing CSRF check permits cross-site submission of the upload request. Exploitation requires a victim to process the response, producing browser-side script execution without evidence of server-side code execution.
