Authenticated code execution via case-sensitive extension filter
Published Jun 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Smarty Pants Plugins SP Project & Document Manager before 4.22 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP. The upload filter compares filename extensions case-sensitively, so a mixed-case extension such as pHP bypasses the PHP-file block. Any account permitted to upload files can place a web shell in its predictable upload directory and execute commands with the web server's privileges.
