Database disclosure and modification via concatenated identifier
Published Jun 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Video Embed Box 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database data via a crafted id parameter. In video-embed-box/video_embed.php, two edit-page queries concatenate the id GET value directly into SQL passed to $wpdb->get_row without validation, sanitization, escaping, or parameter binding. Subscriber-level access and forced browsing to the hidden edit-video-embed administration page are required; successful union injection exposes database contents and enables database modification.
