Authenticated stored script execution via unencoded prayer messages
Published Jun 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Go Prayer WP Prayer before 1.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers via prayer requests. The save method stores prayer_messages after wp_unslash without sanitization, and the WP Prayer Engine echoes the value into HTML without encoding. Any WordPress role can submit a payload; it executes when a visitor opens a request listing or an administrator views Manage Prayers.
