Unauthenticated stored XSS via unsanitized license key
Published May 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Target First Plugin 2.0 allows remote attackers to inject script through an unauthenticated license-key update. The plugin accepts weeWzKey in a POST to any site URL, saves it as the weeID option without sanitization, and interpolates that option into a script URL in every page footer. When a user visits an affected site page, the injected script executes in the visitor's browser and can act with that visitor's web-session privileges.
