Stored XSS via unfiltered widget tag parameters
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Clever Addons for Elementor before 2.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in page viewers. Banner and Multi Banner accept title_tag values from save_builder requests and render them as HTML tag names without filtering or escaping; Animated Headlines similarly handles heading_tag. Contributor access is sufficient to store a payload, and the script runs when another user views or previews the saved page.
