Stored XSS via unescaped widget tag parameters
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in four widgets in The Plus Addons for Elementor before 2.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. Accordion, Infobox, Heading animation, and Hovercard accept client-supplied HTML-tag parameters in save_builder requests and output them without filtering or escaping. Contributor access can store the payload, which runs when another user views or previews the page and can expose an administrator session to site takeover.
