Contributor-level stored XSS via unenforced HTML tags
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Blocksera Image Hover Effects – Elementor Addon before 1.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript. The Image Hover Effects widget trusts the eihe_tag value from a save_builder request and emits it as an HTML tag without enforcing the editor's allowlist. Contributor access is sufficient; the script runs when another user views or previews the saved page and can act in an administrator's browser session.
