Stored XSS via unvalidated widget tag parameters
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in IdeaBox Creations PowerPack Addons for Elementor before 2.3.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript. The Advanced Accordion and Counter widgets accept client-controlled HTML-tag parameters in save_builder requests and render them without server-side validation or output escaping. Contributor access is sufficient, and the stored script runs when another user views or previews the saved page, enabling actions in that viewer's session.
