Contributor-level stored XSS via unenforced widget tags
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Leap13 Premium Addons for Elementor before 4.2.8 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in viewers' browsers. The Testimonials and Premium Blog widgets accept attacker-controlled HTML tag values in save_builder requests, and server-side processing fails to enforce the configured tag allowlist before emitting them. Contributor access is required, and the stored script runs when another user views, edits, or previews the page, allowing actions in that user's browser session.
