Stored script execution via unescaped widget tags
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Essential Addons for Elementor before 4.5.4 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through widget settings. The Progress Bar and Woo Product Compare widgets place unfiltered progress_bar_title_html_tag or table_title_tag values into HTML without escaping. Contributor access is sufficient to save the payload; script runs when another user views or previews the stored page, enabling browser-context data access or actions.
