Unauthenticated code execution via spoofed upload type
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in williewonka Imagements 1.2.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through comments. The imagements_verify_post_data() function trusts the client-controlled image MIME type, while imagements_formverwerking() saves the original filename into a web-accessible images directory. No authentication is required; a forged image Content-Type paired with a PHP filename bypasses validation and enables code execution as the web server.
