Server file disclosure via traversal in image handler
Published Apr 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Local file disclosure in Patreon WordPress before 1.7.0 allows remote attackers to read server files through a crafted image request. The servePatronOnlyImage method accepts the patron_only_image request value, constructs an upload URL, and passes unresolved attachment paths to readAndServeImage without confining them to an authorized file. No authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosure of wp-config.php exposes database credentials and cryptographic keys that can enable site compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
