Database access via unsanitized shortcode result identifier
Published Apr 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Quiz and Survey Master before 7.1.12 allows remote attackers to access the database through a crafted result_id request. The shortcode_display_result method inserts the result_id GET value directly into a SELECT query when [qsm_result] omits its id attribute. An Author can place the shortcode on a post or page; if that content is public, no authentication is required to read or modify database data.
