Cross-user table data access via ID tampering
Published Apr 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in wpDataTables premium before 3.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to read and modify other users' table data. The wdt_save_table_frontend AJAX action trusts formdata[wdt_ID] as the owner identifier, letting a low-privilege account assume another row's table permissions. Exploitation requires a published table with front-end editing enabled and editing limited to each user's own data.
