Authenticated script execution via unsanitized token_error reflection
Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Creativemotion Social Slider Widget before 1.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The plugin settings page directly echoes the user-controlled token_error parameter into its response without sanitizing it. An administrator must be logged in and follow a crafted link; the injected script then executes in the site's origin within that browser session.
