Database disclosure via unprepared answer ID query
Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Themeum Tutor LMS before 1.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to read database data through an AJAX request. The tutor_mark_answer_as_correct handler interpolates the POST answer_id value into a SELECT passed to wpdb::get_row without a prepared statement or SQL-safe validation. Any student account can invoke the nonce-free, capability-unchecked action; blind timing responses expose database contents without modifying them.
