Stored XSS via CSRF-unprotected option updates
Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Vinmatrix VM Backups 1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to store script code via plugin options. The plugin options update path performs no CSRF check before accepting attacker-controlled option changes, which persist as stored script content. Exploitation requires a logged-in WordPress user to load an attacker-controlled request; the stored payload then executes in later browser sessions.
