CVE-2021-24171Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via single-pass filename sanitization

Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Unrestricted file upload in Vanquish WooCommerce Upload Files before 59.4 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code without authentication. The public ajax_manage_file_chunk_upload handler removes blocked substrings only once, so nested extensions survive; its session identifier also permits path traversal. A crafted request can place executable PHP in the webroot and enable complete site takeover without an account or user interaction.
