JavaScript injection via nonce-free settings import
Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in ExpressTech Systems Responsive Menu and Responsive Menu Pro before 4.0.4 allows remote attackers to inject malicious JavaScript. The legacy settings-import handler reads attacker-supplied JSON from responsive-menu-import-file and calls updateOptions without verifying a WordPress nonce. The handler exists before 4.0.0 and in legacy mode through 4.0.3; exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content.
