CVE-2021-24156Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via stored cross-site scripting

Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored cross-site scripting in Hal Gatewood Testimonial Rotator 3.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary JavaScript through crafted testimonial content. Contributor-level users can save unescaped JavaScript or HTML in testimonial fields, and the plugin later renders that stored content to visitors without approval. Exploitation requires a Contributor account and the vulnerable plugin configuration, with privilege escalation possible when an administrator views the affected testimonial.
