Administrator code execution via unchecked backup import
Published Apr 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in JetBackup for WordPress before 1.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The backup import action accepts files without verifying the SGBP format or extension and stores attacker-supplied PHP in the uploads area. Administrator privileges and a web server configuration that exposes uploaded PHP are required for code execution.
