Spreadsheet command execution via unneutralized CSV formulas
Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSV formula injection in CipherCoin Database Addon for Contact Form 7 before 1.2.5.6 allows remote attackers to plant formulas in exports. The plugin stores untrusted Contact Form 7 field values and writes them into CSV cells without neutralizing leading spreadsheet formula characters. Exploitation requires an administrator to export and open the crafted submission in spreadsheet software, where supported formula features can execute commands or transmit data with that user's privileges.
